#Waldz@27

Waldz is the type of person who thinks birthdays are just the same as the other days. Parties are not even part of his vocabulary. Until I came along. (Haha!) Every month there is at least 1 special day that we celebrate. 25th as our monthsary and yes we still celebrate it for the last 8 years; Birthdays, and other significant dates in our lives. All of which he is expected to remember.

So I have already planned a simple surprise party for him. Most of the foods to be served are pre-ordered, and I've already cooked and hid a few foods, drinks and booze at his brother's unit. I have wrapped my gift for him. All the decors were also ready. Invites already uploaded on line, and family and friends are already informed.

His original birthday is on the 18th of May, which is a Monday for this year. I have decided to celebrate it a few days earlier so he won't notice.

THE PLAN:
I am going to work on a Saturday afternoon, 3-7pm, for an RD OT (Rest Day Over Time). He will wait for me at Eastwood so that we can stroll along the mall after my shift.

TRUTH:
After he drops me off at my office building, I rushed to the mall to meet my best friend Kat. After she and I picked up the pizza, we rode the taxi home and saw my sisters, Ate Mygel and JM, carrying the huge burger I asked them to pickup. They helped me decorate our unit and prepared the foods. Her brother Adrian and sister Sophie already arrived with the ice tubes they've volunteered to buy. When we were almost done with the preps, I texted Waldz to come home and pickup my sister and bring her to Eastwood with us.

THE SURPRISE:
The windows and doors are all shut. Each of us holding our gadgets ready to capture his reaction. As he opens the door, we started singing the birthday song as I hand him his gift and lead him to blow his birthday burger cake.

The moment he opened the door..

The birthday boy! (I forgot to buy confetti, tsk!)
Birthday Boy about to blow his Birthday Burger!
The Surprise Smile

He keeps on denying that he wasn't surprised. As much as he tries to hide his real reaction, I can see it in his eyes. I know him too well. The poker-face look won't fool me.

We apent the whole evening eating and drinking and even playing. Thanks to Renz' idea! We were like kids playing Truth or Dare.

I was exhausted but I had a really great time! Thank you for all who came. And for all who helped me make this event possible. From the bottom of my heart, I love you guys!

And to Waldz: Happy Birthday, MY Love! I love you and will always be  here for you.
