He Said (His Side Of The Story)

***DISCLAIMER: I asked-slash-forced Waldz to help me finish the details of our wedsite. The following are all his words. I just have to edit some formats to emphasize a few thoughts. And I am soo kilig and I just can't hide it!

How We Met

This is a story of how I met my ex girlfriend. Most of you who read the first line is might be asking "his ex girl friend?" Yes, you read it right. My ex girlfriend, because she is now my fiancé and soon to be my wife. I met her in the most unexpected way. A simple pick up game of basketball became the start of a new chapter in my life. During that pick up between her former high school and ours that was set up by her. I saw this attractive young lady. I was really hesitant to approach her because I did not have the guts to face her. So, the game went on and finished, that is when I had the chance to meet that beautiful girl. After the game I was introduced by my friend to her. She took her hand up to shake mine but since I was shy and hesitant to take hers I did not, but instead my friend took my hand and gave it to her.
I did not know that with that one hand shake this would be the beginning of something great. God really works in mysterious ways. You never know whats going to happen to you today or tomorrow. You will never know if you are going to be a doctor or an accountant. You will never know if the person's hand you are shaking would be the one to hold your hand until your last days. I am happy I went to that game and was able to meet my soon to be wife.

Proposal

They say that you should always keep a pen and paper beside your bed in case a great idea comes after you wake up. Well, that's true some of the greatest minds in our history had great ideas after they woke up. This is exactly what happened to me, but instead of having a pen and paper I had my phone.
After I woke up I had a realization that I wanted to get married. I could not explain the feeling but I just had the feeling that I wanted to get married.
So I picked up my phone called my friend, Renz and asked him if he could accompany me to buy a ring which he obliged immediately.
We were going on a road trip to Bicol that morning and thought that it would be a great opportunity for my proposal. So, I did everything to hide the ring from her fortunately she did not have a single clue of my plan. I really did not have a concrete plan on how I would do it but I wanted to propose to her in Bicol.

On our last day in Bicol we went to Caramoan. We had a really bad weather there, I was thinking my plan of proposing to her might not push through. While we were on a boat ride I was really quiet then because I was praying for a good weather. Luckily, on the last island we visited God gave a good weather and the rain suddenly stopped. I then had high hopes that my proposal to her was going to come true. I told our tour guide of my plan which he then agree to take them to the far part of the island so I could prepare for my surprise. After a few minutes they were out of sight and my friend and I were racing to write in the sand the 4 words that I wanted to say to her. After preparing my surprise we went and followed her. Since the rain was about to fall I asked her to return to the boat, without a clue that a surprise was waiting for her. She then agreed and asked me to race her to the boat and I agreed to that.
We started running and gave her a head start, she reached the boat first as well as my surprise to her. She then turned around and saw me kneeling with a ring in hand. I was so nervous and overwhelmed that all I could ask her was "Well?" I was supposed to give her a speech but all the words were gone, my heart was raising and I was so nervous. Luckily, she gave me the answer that I wanted to hear. She said "YES."
