A reminder to stay Healthy!

Health is Wealth. I agree. I just reported to work today after a 2-day sick leave. (Stop doubitng! Before you react, this ain't just one of those lazy days!)

I went to see the doctor yesterday, Dr. Marian Delovino, (btw, she is one of the prettiest doctors I have ever seen) at Borough Medical Group. They took my Blood Pressuse (100/60). And asked me to sit as I wait for my turn.

After some physical assessment and after running a few laboratory tests, I was diagnosed to have had an Acute Gastritis. The doctor prescribed Pantropazole (to be taken 3x a day, 30minutes before every meal). And she gave me free samples of Spasomen. Well, she actually just wanted me to try the free tablets given to her by a Medical Representative from Invida. Besides, its for free, so why not?

So after she signed my medical certificate, she gave me tips on how to avoid stuffs like this again.

I am writing this blog to remind us that Health really is Wealth. That prevention is way better than cure. To keep good health no money is needed. It can be achieved only through our efforts and proper health care. We can maintain good health only if we are aware of various factors which affect our health. There are certain things which are essential for keeping our body free from diseases. Nutritious food comes first.

Laughter is the best medicine of good health. So, we should keep calm by overcoming anger, greed, fear, envy and hatred. Life of a healthy man is his long lasting wealth. It makes him able to enjoy life to the fullest. Those who are wealthy may not always be healthy but the healthy people are always wealthy.

Happily Ever After of Mr. & Mrs. Leido

Last Saturday, September 8, was our Great Mama Mary's birthday! I woke up at around 10am from a  phone call from my boyfirend! This is one of those calls that leaves you no choice but to get up! My guy is a morning person, so even if he works the whole night he is still as lively as ever. I, on the otherhand, is the exact opposite. I am usually more perky at night and too damn lazy to get up in the morning! (excuse me for my french, hihi). And this just happened to be one of the days that he wont stop bugging me until I get up from my bed.

So I went to see him. It was AGAIN one of  those guy-attitude --- the last minute wedding gift shopping! I have been reminding him (on a daily basis) to buy a wedding gift eversince last week! Huh! I dont want to elaborate this further because this blog might end up being a ranting entry. haha!

The wedding is at 5:30pm that day, and we only have a few hours left to prepare and all, so  we decided to just look for a gift within Eastwood. After an hour or two we finally decided to buy a coffeemaker. Sorry but I wont be disclosing the price but I must say it is indeed a good buy! And since I am the korny-type-of-girl I suggested to buy couple mugs. :) I was supposed to wrap them to add some personal touch to the gift but since we were in a rush, we end up going to National Book Store instead. I was only a plus one so I was not able to see the invitation and I was unaware of the wedding motif (which now brings us to the dillemna on what wrapper to choose). But just to be safe, we chose silver wrapper and a blue ribbon. (By the way, I would just like to acknowledge that the gift was from Walds, Fil, and Aaron..)

My boyfriend and I left Eastwood half past 4. I was wearing a blue-and-cream dress while he was wearing a cream polo barong. This is one of the reasons why I love to attend special occasions like this; It's just like playing dress up with free buffet! :)

Late due to traffic!

Due to traffic we arrived there almost 6pm. We were quite hesitant to enter the church because we thought that we were so late for the ceremony. But to our surprise, it didn't even started yet. (Yey to that!)

It was my first time to enter San Agustin Church. (This makes me eligible to ask for a wish! Another yey to that!) We were sitted on the right side, next to my boyfriend's friends and colleagues. I think the church is like a mini-Manila Cathedral. Anyway, as I watch the entourage do their thing (do their thing talaga noh?! hehe), I have observed the unique natural glow in the groom's face. He looked so happy and thrilled! But one of the most awaited part of the event was the walking down the aisle of the bride. They were playing "Pangarap Ko ang Ibigin Ka" as they open the church door slowly. Everyone was asked to stand up in honor of the bride. That moment seem so magical and everyone was awed on how elegant the bride was.

With Mr. & Mrs. Leido.

The couple's reception was held at Villa Immaculada, Tamayo's Catering. It was only a few blocks away from the church. The venue was indeed a great choice! It was simply elegant. While we were waiting for the bride and groom, appetizers were served in our table (ham with pineapples and shrimp balls). As soon as the couple arrived, the program started and the buffet table was opened. Everyone's hungry stomach was very satisfied! Their mango crepe was awesome! I'm giving them a perfect 10 for the food and service.

The mini chocolate cake souvenir which were meant to given to the principal sponsors. I wonder why I was able to have a one!  :)

After we ate we decided to take a lot of picture from the photo booth. (yes I am exaggerating a lot!). Check out their website to see more of our pictures at Art Pose Photo.

I and my boyfriend Walds, together with Tin and Fil, sneaked out to take some pictures outside.  When we headed back to the venue, the program was almost done.

After taking group pictures, we were invited by Walds' colleague to join them in the penthouse they rented in Orchids Garden Hotel. After a few drinks, we decided to go home.

I’m coming home, Dagupan!

I’m coming home, Dagupan!

Day 1

Hello there! To anyone who might be reading my lame blogs. Haha. So here goes my second entry.

I woke up early today because I received a wake up call from my boyfriend. This is very helpful because I usually wake up either at noon or an hour past noon. I fixed my stuffs, took a bath, and meet up with him to eat. Today was actually his younger brother’s graduation day, I was invited to join them but I said that I would rather go home early so I can stay home and rest. So after we ate, we parted ways. He’s going to PICC, somewhere in the South, while I took a cab heading to the North part of Manila. But before I head to the bus station, I decided to stop by Megamall first to buy some stuff that I’ll give as pasalubong.

Mom’s Tomato

I went to Tomato first and bought my mom a white watch as my belated birthday gift for her. Why Tomato? It’s because for some reason my mom suddenly fell in love with it the moment she laid her eyes on that shop. Every time she goes to Manila, and whenever there’s a Tomato shop nearby she will definitely go there and went out from the shop holding a plastic bag. But who can blame her; there are really a lot of cute finds in that shop with a very reasonable price.

Sharing the J.Co Way

So after I purchased the watch, I went straight to the shop that I’ve been dying to visit ever since I came back to the Philippines. J.Co Doughnuts! J

J.Co Doughnuts is located at the lower ground of SM Megamall. You can easily find it because it’s just right beside Mang Inasal, almost at the corner part of the mall. I was there around 11am. I patiently waited for my turn in line because as early as that, customers like me are already there in line to buy these amazing doughnuts.

I was about to order J.PoPs, the mini version of the doughnuts, but unfortunately it’s going to be ready only after 2 hours. As much as I wanted to wait for it, I can’t because I still have to travel and wouldn’t want to waste my 2 hours there waiting. I know it’s going to be worth it, but I just don’t have an extra 2 hours to spare. So anyway, the J.PoPs is sold for 250php for 24 pieces. I was planning to buy two packs of this but I end buying the big ones instead, for 550php for 2 dozens already. Not bad, right? But it might be a little expensive if you buy it in smaller packs. A piece will cost you 45php, while a dozen will cost you 350php. So if you have extra money, I suggest you buy the 2 dozens. They have a variety of flavors so you don’t have to worry of having no choices with the flavors/designs.

While I was waiting in line for my turn, I got the chance to talk to one of the staff (sorry I forgot his name). So I asked Kuya what specific flavor was that. And he said something like a Chocó-stuffed (sorry I forgot again). He also shared that there are 30 different flavors in all.

I honestly didn’t know what flavors to say when the lady staff asked me what I’m getting so I just said that I’m getting 2 dozens and one of each kind that they have. As she one by one placed the very attractive-mouthwatering-colourful doughnuts in my box, I just can’t help but smile.

Solid North

It was a bit traffic during that time so I arrived at the bus station almost 1pm. I took the Solid North Bus 1619, and it left around 1:20pm. I don’t know why I’ve been hearing negative feedback from people whenever they ride the Solid North Bus. I have been a loyal passenger though. In fairness to them they never failed me or maybe I’m just lucky that I haven’t experienced any of those that others were ranting about. So I just want to share my experience, positive ones, for the sake of those who have just been hearing about negative stuffs about SNB. The people working from this company are really good. I admit that I am person who is very sensitive about issues regarding “customer service” because I believe that in return to your loyal customers, you should give them the quality service that they deserve. And this I have been experiencing with Solid North Bus. Every time they see passengers heading their bus station, you can already see the conductor helping you carry your stuffs. In which I seldom see being practised to other bus companies now. They make sure that you will be seated to a comfortable seat. They are very accommodating. And maybe because I look like I’ll be connecting to their wireless internet so they even told me where to find the user name and password for it. When the bus left the station, they make sure that they played a movie for passengers to watch. And these are not just movies, this are the latest. Fine, so I might have enjoyed the movie more than anyone else because it was my first time to watch it (Every Breath You Take starring Angelica & Piolo).  I normally sleep during that 5 hour trip from Manila to Dagupan but because I was so kilig watching the movie, I didn’t. After that they played Expendables. I have watched that movie so many times so I wasn’t interested in watching it again so I played the songs from my phone’s playlist. And ta-dah! Sleeping beauty.

We arrived at around 5:30 in Dagupan. We got a little stuck up in traffic, in Caranglaan, because they were fixing the road. So anyway, that was my experience with Solid North Bus; I was able to sleep during half the trip, which I believe is an important factor because not all buses can enable you to sleep during the whole trip. And it’s a must to all bus companies to ensure that their passengers are safe and happy during their trip. It’s also a plus that their staffs are very helpful with their passengers ridding on and getting off the bus. So I am certified happy customer!

a beginner's blog

I honestly don't know how to start making my blogs. Eversince I've read Ate Rica's blog, I must say that I've been thrilled to make my own site, too. And here I am, trying hard to begin my first blog (ever!). Please bear with me I'm a newbie.

My goal is to bring the joy of reading blogs; especially those that imbue your mind with thoughts and ideas, which I truly hope you will find read worthy. I have so many ideas in mind that I want to blog about but I want my first enrty to be something extra special. So I've decided to make this entry about myself. Yes! I see myself/my life as something special worth writing about.

I know it's really not advisable to be writing personal information online so I wont be disclosing private details for safety purposes. Anyway, people actually call me my, mymy, myles, so be my guest and pick your best nickname for me. I'm already hmmm......at the right age! haha! But what I'll be more than willing and happy to tell you all is when I'll be turning another year older, 8th of November. So better mark your calendars because I truly appreciate small gestures of thoughTfulness. But hey! big gestures also wont hurt. FYI, I'm a hopeless-romantic-type-of-girl and a sucker for sweets. (Just so you'll have an idea what to get me on my birthday! haha! )

I am the 3rd child in our family. I'm lucky to have an older sister and brother, and a younger brother and sister. We're just any other typical family who lives a simple life, who also experiences hardships and trials which makes us all even stronger.

And soon I will be blogging about a little sort-of-family-secret that I am proud to tell everyone.

“When everything goes to hell, the people who stand by you without flinching -- they are your family. ”
Jim Butcher

  • Like all the best families, we have our share of eccentricities, of impetuous and wayward youngsters and of family disagreements.
    Elizabeth II

  • A happy family is but an earlier heaven.
    -George Bernard Shaw

Anyway, one thing that I also want to share is how much I am truly madly and deeply inlove with the love of my life, Walds. We've been together for 5 years, 6 months, and 26 days to be exact. I'm pretty sure that my friends, family, relatives and cousins can attest to this love-hate relationship that we have. I contribute more of the immature side of the relationship. But despite all my flaws and shortcomings, he is still here by my side. Oh! And trust me, its NOT easy being around me whenever I make temper tantrums. But we know better now, we often learn more about each other during the bad times, and each rough spot is an opportunity to work through to another stepping stone.

"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" by MYMP (our theme song)

This was my 5th year surprise video for him

I'm about to end this blog because I don't know what else to say (for now). But rest assured that you will be hearing more from me here. I hope you somehow enjoyed reading my very first blog. J
